About

Jacob’s Fund project has been set up by a group of believers from the United Kingdom as a response to a much needed reconciliation between the church and the Jewish people. The last nineteen hundred years have been marred by many tragic events starting from ignorance, bigotry, leading to forceful expulsions and other forms of hostility. In the UK alone, throughout the middle ages, the Jewish community has been accused of many ills of the society, which consequently resulted in violence and loss of lives. The discrimination and unreasoned hatred continued intensifying, culminating in expulsion from England in 1290 by a decree of King Edward I. Sadly, the history of violence did not end there. In other parts of Europe, similar events took place which led to bigotry, unlawful repossession of Jewish property, and eventual expulsion of Jewish communities, and then came Holocaust... Who would have thought at the time, that the nations who were given the privilege to preach the Good News “to the Jew first”, have ended up persecuting the very people through whom they have received the Scriptures and all the promises? However, there were individuals who, in spite of the public opinion, continued doing what is right, living a selfless life and demonstrating their love towards the Jewish people. They simply lived out the teaching of the Bible.

Many of the puritans some hundred and fifty years ago, few of the Christians, who chose to risk their lives during the WWII to save their Jewish neighbours (Anne Frank, Corrie Van Boom, Sir Nicholas Winton etc), and many others continue to be admired for their faith and sacrificial acts of kindness. We believe that the adherence to the Word of God and its application in a daily life, make these Christians stand out when looking at the broader history of the church. Last, but not least, was their belief in the ultimate restoration of Israel as a nation. Hence, the main objective of this project is to connect believers from different countries with Israel based Ministries to reach out to the people of Israel - Jews, Arabs and other minorities residing in the country. To partner with them in providing support to those who struggle financially or have no means of providing for their daily living. It is especially important in the times that we are living now. In the face of the growing hostility towards Israel, where anti-Semitism has taken on various forms of political activism, we cannot remain ignorant and have to take a stand showing our support to those living in Israel. We believe that the work of reconciliation begins with little acts of faith, choosing to do what is right, taking action when and where it is required – by giving the food to the hungry, taking care of the sick, and providing the shelter to the homeless.
